PALIMPSEST1995

Starting point of ›PALIMPSEST‹ is the carbon copy of a double-sided the content of which is the preparation of the exhibition ›DEKALOGOS‹ and ›KREUZ‹ (CROSS) from 1995 in Karlsruhe.

The unsuccessful carbon copy becomes the draft for the screen printed slate plate. The inverted and upside down writing creates the composition by overlapping with the writing from the first page. The palimpsest begins and ends with the words: Unfortunately it took some time.

Reflected vertically, the texture of the slate joins with encrypted glyphs, a visual conundrum.
