Diptych KREUZ (CROSS)2005

Divided sculpture. The parts are the whole and more than the whole. Unmediated by one another the parts seem to stand by themselves. Their combination is left to the observer. The title directs the synthetic correlation between the forms. Cross. Overlapping of the horizontal alignment of one plate with the vertical alignment of the other. The cross is generated as empty space by the imaginary correlation between the broken edges of the stone plates.
